Helpful Websites provides practical information, charts, and examples that explain what 401(k) plans are and how to most effectively utilize them. Be sure to run the (k)Check Calculator to illustrate how much you can save through your 401(k) plan! provides a library of articles on important 401(k) issues. The collection is regularly updated to incorporate current topics. also provides a suite of interactive financial calculators to help you analyze some common financial problems.

CNN Money’s comprehensive retirement planner helps you estimate how well your savings program is preparing you for retirement. If it looks like your savings will fall short of the desired amount, the tool offers some suggestions for improving your savings plan.

The Social Security Administration’s retirement planner site provides detailed information about Social Security retirement benefits under current law. The site also provides benefit calculators that estimate potential benefit amounts using different retirement dates and levels of future earnings.

The Employee Benefits Security Administration (EBSA) within the U.S. Department of Labor is charged with administering the provisions of the laws and regulations governing U.S. retirement plans.  EBSA’s website provides general information on retirement plans, answers to FAQs, and tips on saving for retirement.
